  5. Bass Pro Shops has a 100,000-square-foot showroom full of outdoor merchandise, plus a conservation mountain, gun library, boat shop and aquarium stocked with local fish. The merchandise may not be free, but watching the big fish swim in the aquarium is—plus, it’s just fun to wander around looking at all the goods.

  6. Beaver Lake is known for its clear water and tall bluffs that make for a perfect summer afternoon swimming, boating, fishing and SCUBA diving. Spend a couple hours hiking on the trails around Beaver Lake, or make it a really budget-friendly getaway by camping for the weekend (fee required).

  7. Biking or walking the Razorback Regional Greenway in Northwest Arkansas is as easy as finding a trailhead and stepping on. From Rogers the Greenway goes north through Bentonville and Bella Vista almost to the Missouri line. Head south and pass through Lowell and Springdale on the way to Fayetteville. Jump off anywhere along the way for food, drink or places to play.

  8. The Rogers Skate & Splash Park is adjacent to the Rogers Activity Center. Splash away on a hot summer day at 10 in-ground sprinklers, two moveable water cannons, and three water buckets. Or, show off your tricks at the skate park. Park benches and a playground can be found here too.
