Off-Road Bike Trails: Something for Everyone

A recent addition to Northwest Arkansas’ incredible mountain biking scene, Lake Atalanta trail system is quickly gaining popularity due to its natural beauty and fast singletrack. Take your pick from beginner to expert trails, and enjoy the lakefront views along the way. For an easy ride, pedal along 6.3 miles of mountain biking trails at Blowing Springs Park in Bella Vista, where the trail system boasts beautiful bluffs, natural springs, caverns and scenic bridges. Rideable from Blowing Springs, The Back 40 offers more than 20 miles of single track through wooded wilderness, where you’ll traverse a hand-cut rock ledge on Grayson’s Canyon, pass waterfalls and go over creeks.

Connecting Bentonville and Fayetteville, the 36-mile Razorback Regional Greenway features a primarily off-road trail that links a number of historic sites, parks, playgrounds and more. One stop along the greenway is Lake Fayetteville, where you can take your pick from the 5.5-mile nature trail that encircles the glittering lake or the 4.3-mile hard surface multi-use trail. Also in Fayetteville is Mount Kessler, a popular—yet challenging—7-mile trail system for mountain bikers and hikers alike. For more than 21 miles of trails latticing across 1,600 acres of scenic beauty, Lake Leatherwood City Park in Eureka Springs offers all types of terrain—from easygoing valley trails to thigh-burning hillside switchbacks to thrilling downhill—and gorgeous views of Lake Leatherwood as a reward.
