Burgers
First recommendation is the locally owned, long-time Rogers’s favorite, Sam’s Old Tyme Burgers on East Locust. Then there is regionally owned Lucy’s Diner on Walnut. Both feature old-fashioned burgers as well as many other items for your non-burger eating friends. Parkside Public on First Street in downtown (also locally owned by the folks who own Rail-A-Pizza Company, but more on that later). Be sure to try the Southern Slaw burger or the F26; peanut butter on a burger is surprisingly good. Over at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade mall you’ll find Big Orange specializing in bold burgers packed with flavor. Don’t forget to save room for dessert with one of their hand-dipped milkshakes that can be made “Boozy” for those over 21.
