Bean-a-palooza Cooking Class

Join Chefs Addie and Amelia in the HKS Kitchen as they spill the beans about beans. Their flavor-packed cooking class showcases the humble bean while celebrating its versatility from the first bite of class to the last. You’ll start with a comforting bite to set the tone for the evening with an appetizer of white bean bake served with crisp crostini. Then, you’ll tackle a delish duo of unique legume-based dishes – a vibrant succotash paired with hearty bean bread and green bean and potato salad. And you’ll end on a surprisingly decadent note with a rich black bean sticky toffee pudding while raising a glass of crisp, botanical White Negroni to culinary creativity. This class, led by Addie and Amelia, will serve up beans in ways your taste buds never thought possible. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

MEET THE CHEFS:

Addie Hayes is the kitchen manager at The Odd Soul kitchen in Downtown Springdale. She has significant experience in catering and curating specialty menus for small groups. She loves cocktails and food pairings, and all things flavor! Born and raised in the south, she was influenced by so many good cooks throughout her life. Addie operates Fatty Addie’s on the side. You can find her at big market pop-ups or smaller pop-ups in partnership with local stores. She handles special orders and is always happy to chat about what someone will need for bridal showers, birthday parties, or just fun, friendly get-togethers. She also dabbles in gluten-free and vegan baking. When she’s not cooking, she enjoys spending time outside in her garden, hanging out with friends, or visiting family. Addie certainly knows how to have a good time!

*****

Growing up in a food-centric family, Amelia Holaday learned the value of community and shared meals early on. This fostered a love for flavors and all things hosting, eventually leading her to open her own restaurant, which operated for several years as a creperie and specialty coffee shop. During this time Amelia deepened her passion for building connections through food and found a great amount of fulfillment providing a space for underrepresented communities to gather.

After moving to Northwest Arkansas, she found herself right at home in the Honeycomb Kitchen. Combining her love of food with planning and organizing has in many ways been a dream job!

A longtime DIY-er and advocate for a simple life, she currently spends most of her free time building out her tiny house and finding space in 240 square feet to create delicious and nutritious meals on a budget.
