Cooking Class – Tea-riffic Desserts!
THURSDAY, MAY 7, 2026 | 6:30 PM
with Miranda Kohout
Love tea? Here’s your chance to think outside of the teacup. Join Chef Miranda Kohout in the HKS Kitchen for an evening of tea-infused baking in a creative class where fragrant leaves become the star ingredient in every course. Your evening will begin with a pair of sweet chef-made bites – Earl Grey Chocolate Tarts and smoky-sweet Lapsang Souchong Caramels – that showcase how tea can deepen both chocolate and caramel flavors. You’ll then learn to prepare a buttery Earl Grey Shortbread Dough that you’ll fill with chef’s Passion Fruit Caramel. Additionally, you’ll make a warmly spiced Masala Pumpkin Crème Brûlée, that you’ll then top with the chef’s delicate Oolong Whipped Cream to highlight tea’s aromatic complexity. To finish, you’ll craft jewel-toned Hibiscus Gummies that capture the tart floral notes of brewed hibiscus in a playful sweet treat. This class is perfect for bakers and tea lovers eager to explore how infusion, spice, and flavor layering can transform desserts. Recipes will be provided for the treats you make in class as well as the pre-made items chef brings for you to enjoy in class. Tickets are priced per person.
*All class ticket sales are final. No refunds or credit transfers to other classes are available. If you purchase a ticket and are unable to attend, please contact us to check our waitlist.*
MEET THE CHEF
Miranda graduated from the French Pastry School in Chicago in 2005. Her pastry career began at NoMI, a Michelin-star restaurant in Park Hyatt’s flagship property on Michigan Avenue. It continued at Goddess & Grocer, Hoosier Mama Pie Company, and The Bristol. In 2015, she, her husband, and their dog Doc, relocated to Northwest Arkansas. Her introduction to the NWA culinary scene was at The Farmer’s Table in Fayetteville, where their passion for local products and support of area farmers shaped her perspective on food and cooking in her new home. If you’re a fan of beloved local spots, there’s a good chance you’ve been introduced to her pastries and baked goods. Miranda has created desserts for Pressroom, The Hive, and baked pies at Wright’s BBQ. Currently, she consults on the dessert menu at Conifer in Bentonville.
