Cooking Class – The Portuguese Plate

Explore the bold, comforting flavors of Portugal with Chef Justin Hall in the HKS Kitchen. Inspired by traditional favorites, this hands-on cooking class begins with chef-made Pastéis de Nata, the iconic Portuguese Custard Tarts with flaky pastry and caramelized tops. Then you’ll dive into the savory heart of the meal by preparing Piri-Piri Chicken, marinated in a vibrant chili-garlic sauce that delivers smoky heat and bright flavor. You’ll also create Caldo Verde, a beloved Portuguese Soup of Tender Greens and Potatoes that’s both rustic and nourishing. Rounding out the menu is a refreshing Black-Eyed Pea and Apple Salad, combining crisp sweetness with hearty legumes for a perfect balance. This class offers a delicious introduction to Portugal’s rich culinary traditions and the bold flavors that make its cuisine so memorable. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

MEET THE CHEF
Justin Hall is a Northwest Arkansas chef originally from the Bay Area. His passion for food was ignited while working at a few local favorites. Throughout a couple of family relocations, he got to be a part of the Kansas City and Northern California food scenes as well. He loves using cooking as an avenue to connection and learning about other cultures.
Justin enjoys making his own hot sauces using a variety of unique ingredients and plans to launch his own hot sauce company this year!
