La Pinata SAAM

La Piñata SAAM is a family-oriented program focused on serving the Spanish-speaking community through education and awareness; ensuring our organization’s commitment to provide equal access to services to all members of our NWA community. This free event will feature several family-friendly activities including food, music, face painting, prizes and piñatas.
La Piñata SAAM originated by combining the fight against sexual assault and the rich symbolism of the piñata. Culturally the piñata originated as a representation of the evils that consume our everyday world. Children were encouraged to break the piñatas as a way to bring fortune into the community for the new season. With the cultural significance of piñatas, NWACSA brings this event annually to the Spanish-speaking community as a method to break down the negative stigma of rape culture.
