What are Victorian Plants?

Step into the world of Victorian gardens and discover the stories rooted in every bloom.

In this engaging program, you’ll learn what defines a true Victorian plant—from treasured heirlooms to resilient natives—and how these varieties made their way into gardens through daring plant hunters, shared “passalong” cuttings, and time-tested favorites. Along the way, we’ll trace the journeys of these plants and explore the living history found right outside the museum in Vera’s Victorian Garden.

You’ll also come away with practical inspiration, including modern, improved varieties that capture the spirit of the Victorian era and can be beautifully incorporated into your own garden today.

No registration required. Presented by the Benton County Master Gardeners at the Key Wing Education Center.
