Saturday, February 8th, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Birds & Breakfast: See live songbirds captured in the park by ornithologists and then help them release the birds after learning more about them. Breakfast snacks, juice and coffee will be provided. Come and go as you please. Sponsored by the Bluebird Shed, 3-D Pet Products, Ozark Bird Conservancy, and Friends of Hobbs

Reading Rocker: Sssensational Snakes: Snakes can be scary, until we understand them better. Join us as we read about the adventure of a tiny snake and find out more about these sssensational critters. Participants can choose to touch one of our resident snake ambassadors and make a paper pet snake to take home. We’ll end the morning with a short hike around the Ozark Plateau trail where you will find out where all the snakes go in the winter. Recommended age 4+

Snakes Tabletop: Did you know that there are 39 species of native snakes in Arkansas? This unique family of reptiles play an important role in nature, but sometimes get a bad rap. Come learn more about the lives and behavior of these secretive creatures and make a snake craft. Come and go as you please. A 15-minute program will start every half-hour from 12:30 – 2:00 and visitors that choose to can interact with a live, non-venomous, snake ambassador.

The Trial of Speck L. Kingsnake: Are snakes good or bad? Help determine the fate of Mr. Speck L. Kingsnake during a mock trial in which the audience will play various roles. We’ll hear the evidence for and against Mr. Kingsnake. Will the jury find him guilty or innocent? Meet the live suspect in person too!
